Pope Francis: Who am I to judge a person is gay?

Pope Francis has said that gay people should not be marginalized, but integrated into the society.

Speaking to reporters on the flight back from Brazil, where he reaffirmed the Roman Catholic Church that homosexuality is a sin. But not homosexual orientation.

He was responding to a question that has been. "Gay lobby" in the Vatican.

"If people are gay and wish to God that I will judge how".

He also said he wanted to have a greater role for women in the church. But that they may not be a priest.

Pope returned to Rome on Monday after a tour of a week-long of Brazil - a trip to his first abroad as pontiff - that climaxed with a large gathering on the beach in Copacabana, Rio de. Janeiro's Catholic World Youth Festival.

Festival attracted more than three million people around it.

In his words, gay people were seen as more conciliatory than his predecessor's position on this matter.

Pope Benedict XVI signed a document in 2005 that said that men tend to have a deep-rooted homosexual behavior should not be a priest.

But Pope Francis said gay bishops should be forgiven for their sins and forget.

"Catechism of the Catholic Church explains this very well," Pope Francis said in a 80-minute long interviews with the Vatican journalist.

"It says that they should not be marginalized because of this. But they must be integrated into society. "

But he condemned what he described as lobbying by gay people.

"The problem is not religion," he said, "we must be brothers. The problem is that lobbying by orientation or political lobby lobby lobby of the brick avarice so many areas. This is the problem worse. ".

About the role of women in the church, he said. "We can not limit the role of women in the church with altar girls or the president of the charity must be more.

"But with regards to the ordination of women, the church said no ... and that door is closed."

Answer questions about the issue, he said the Vatican bank, the institution must become. "Honesty and transparency" and that he would listen to advice on how it should be reformed or shut down altogether.

"I do not know what will become of the bank. Some say it is better than other banks, it should be a charity fund and others say that's it, "he said.
