Jazz icon George Duke died at 67.

Jazz musician George Duke, died Monday in Los Angeles at age 67.

One of the pioneers of Funk and R & B music, he has been battling chronic lymphocytic leukemia, according to his label Concord Music Group, which confirmed his death.

"Outpouring of love and support that we received from a friend of my father, the fans and the entire music community has been overwhelming," his son, Rashid Duke said in a statement. "Thank you all for your prayers, support and concern.".

Keyboard Grammy Award-winning producer, and collaborated with artists such as Frank Zappa, Miles Davis, Jill Scott and Michael Jackson during his career of more than four decades. His music was sampled by Kanye West, Daft Punk and ordinary.

Final album Duke, Dreamweaver, was released on July 16 and made its debut at # 1 on the Billboard Jazz charts contemporary It's a new song, his first since the death of his wife, Corine years.
